Before becoming a therapist I spent fourteen years running a residential design-renovation business in New York City. Eventually, I realized that what mattered most to me was the relationships I built through my business. I loved understanding clients’ stories, building mutual trust, and navigating challenges with them. That realization led me to become a therapist.
Alongside my career in construction, I studied and taught mindfulness, yoga, and other somatic practices. I later earned my Master of Social Work, integrating these perspectives into my therapy work. Before that, I earned a Master of Fine Arts, focusing on sculpture and art theory. I remain active in my community, facilitating art therapy courses in supportive housing and serving as an advisor to mentors working with minority youth at a local non-profit.
I take an active role in therapy, offering reflection and thoughtful challenges. I also bring creativity, visualization techniques, and body awareness into our process. I believe our bodies and imaginations offer deep sources of intelligence and knowledge that we can draw from. Together, these approaches can build your tolerance for distress, strengthen emotional regulation, and broaden self-awareness.
